After a month of anticipation, fans have finally witnessed Stranger Things Season 4's epic finale. While the Hawkins gang was all in jeopardy under Vecna's hands, it was newcomer Eddie Munson who faced a tragic fate at the latest season's conclusion.
While fans continue to mourn Eddie Munson's death at the newly-dropped Volume Two of Stranger Things Season 4, Joseph Quinn — who plays Eddie in the show has an idea on how his character can possibly return.
"I think there's a great beginning, there's a great middle and a great end for the character," he told RadioTimes. "And as an actor you want characters with those kinds of arcs. So whilst it would have been great to come back for another season and get together with all those lovely people again, I think it was a brilliantly realized ending for a brilliantly written character."
The actor went on to discuss how much he enjoyed the epic guitar scene where Eddie plays Metallica's Master of Puppets, and how it was 'brilliant' not just for him but for the whole crew.
"It's a fantastic conclusion to the character and yeah, I feel very very lucky," he said.
Although Eddie's fate in the franchise seemingly concluded, Quinn shares his idea about how his character could still return. "Me and Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) were discussing ways in which I could kind of...maybe I'd be like a figment of Gaten's imagination or something. Like if there could be some kind of room for something like that, something a bit supernatural."
"But my suspicion is that Eddie has done what he needed to do for the [Duffer] brothers."
Still, Quinn believes that Eddie should return to clear his name, which he believes that the fans also wanted to see. "I think it would be nice for him to kind of have his name cleared," he continued. "I think that would be satisfying for the audience. I think Eddie paid such a...he made the ultimate sacrifice for a town that thought he was a monster, which is a level of heroism that's kind of hard to comprehend."
The Duffer Brothers might actually consider Quinn's brilliant idea. In fact, they have already pulled off this concept with Dacre Montgomery's Billy Hargrove's return in Season 4. Despite Billy's death, he was still in the memories of Max and was still somehow included in the show.
Given that, it's not very impossible to see Eddie in the show's monumental finale. More importantly, after the tremendous fan reception with Quinn's Eddie, Matt and Ross Duffer might absolutely consider bringing him back on the show.
