Stranger Things 4: Jamie Campbell Bower Says Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA Would Save Him From Vecna

After three long years of anticipation, the critically-acclaimed Netflix hit Stranger Things triumphantly returned to the streaming service. Season 4 Volume 1 follows the Hawkins gang's latest dive into the Upside Down, where the menacing villain named Vecna exists. Vecna serves as the most horrifying villain the fans have ever seen and easily puts the fate of the entire Hawkins crew in jeopardy. Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Vecna in the show’s latest season revealed in a recent interview that a Miley Cyrus classic hit would save him from his own villainous character.

“If I’m being cheeky and fun, it would be Miley Cyrus' Party In The USA,'” Bower told ET Canada during the MTV Movie & TV Awards red carpet last Sunday, June 5.

As revealed in Episode 4: Dear Billy of the newly released season of Stranger Things, Vecna can be outrun if one listens to their favorite song. According to the show, music has the ability to ground people in reality and bring them back to their senses. The Dear Billy episode centered on Max (Sadie Sink) as she became Vecna's latest prey. Luckily, the Hawkins gang rescued her by playing Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God), a song currently experiencing a massive surge in streaming thanks to its inclusion in the show.

Bower also admitted that he is a fan of the 1985 track. According to the actor, Placebo's 2003 song would also work to save him from Vecna. “If I’m being normal, it would be — Placebo covered ‘Running Up That Hill’ by Kate Bush,” Bower told ET. “So I would do that, both of them together — beautiful.”

More recently, Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill landed Top. 8 on Billboard Top 100 weeks after its inclusion in Stranger Things Season 4.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 is now available to stream on Netflix, while Volume 2 arrives on July 1.
