Star Wars' Young Han Solo To Jump Into Another Major Franchise

For fans who are always looking forward to their favorite actors’ next big roles, there’s nothing more exciting than learning that their favorite star from a major franchise will proceed to another prime company that will make him or her even bigger than they already are. Star Wars’ young Han Solo is set to appear next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and fans are nothing but ecstatic.

Alden Ehrenreich, who gained international attention when he was cast as a young Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story, opened up to DiscussingFilm about him joining Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series in an unknown supporting role.

“Ironheart, it’s big, but it also feels very personal, so I appreciated that. And it was, it was fun, it was nice to go back and do a big one like that.” he said.

Ironheart will be a follow-up to Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as she stars in her own series. Riri, a 19-year-old MIT student, will take on the challenges as she navigates her dual roles as a superhero and one of her university's brightest minds. Thorne will be joined by Anthony Ramos of Hamilton, who will play The Hood, and Jim Rash, who will be reprising his Captain America: Civil War role as the Dean of MIT.

The rest of the ensemble cast includes This is Us breakout star Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Harper Anthony, Cree Summer, Shea Couleé, Zoe Terakes, Regan Aliyah, Shakira Barrera, Rashida "Sheedz" Olayiwola, Sonia Denis, and Paul Calderón.

Despite Ehrenreich's success as the young Han Solo, the Star Wars film was a box office flop, with no chance of a film sequel. However, fans expect that the MCU’s Ironheart will be an opportunity for the actor to shine once more in a huge role that he deserves.

He will next be seen in the Universal Pictures film Cocaine Bear, directed by Elizabeth Banks.

As part of MCU’s Phase 5, Ironheart is expected to arrive on Disney+ in Fall 2023.
