Star Wars: Visions Season 2 EP Shares Update on Non-Anime Episodes

The first season of Star Wars: Visions gave us an interesting new look at the Star Wars Universe through the eyes of some of the best Japanese animation studios. However, Star Wars: Visions Season 2 will explore new stories from studios from around the world. So how are things going with the second season? Executive producer James Waugh has shared an update on the anthology show's upcoming chapter.

It was previously confirmed that Star Wars: Visions Season 2 will bring in animation studios from around the globe. However, the names of the studios have not yet been specified.

So what else can we expect in the second season? Executive producer James Waugh shared some cool updates with Deadline, confirming that production is already underway.

“The first anthology is anime because we all loved the style of it, but personally my intention for Visions was to always let it be a more broad palette, because there’s so much great animation work going on in the world,” Waugh said. “There’s so many interesting voices in all sorts of other mediums that are really focused on animation right now. And we really wanted it to be, in a way, a “sub-brand” that allowed for different creators to come celebrate Star Wars from their own unique cultural perspective.

“And so Visions volume two is sort of a global tour of some of the most interesting animation studios on a global level. We have studios from Africa, Chile, England, Ireland, France, India… and the guiding light there was that we wanted their storytelling to be a reflection of what Star Wars meant in their culture, but also a reflection of the myths and stories that could only come out of their cultural context,” he continued.

Amazingly, Waugh continued by revealing the intended release window for Star Wars: Visions Season 2. “Spring next year is currently where we’re targeting and I think it’s an absolutely beautiful anthology,” he said.

This is awesome news considering that people are eager to see more episodes from Visions. With that in mind, we can't wait to see the second season of the animated series.

Star Wars: Visions Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
