Following Disney+'s launch is the premiere of the highly-anticipated series Star Wars: The Mandalorian. The show opens up straight to the titular bounty hunter's story. However, there was one adorable and unexpected scene towards the end of the first episode.

This article contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Mandalorian pilot episode.

The Mandalorian is said to be referencing multiple Star Wars homages and characters. Which proves to be true when baby Yoda, or at least someone of the same species, is revealed at the end of the episode. The infant is a target and is one of the reasons that has cost multiple bounty hunter's lives.

Pedro Pascal's character is set to track the said target along with IG-11. With the use of a tracking device, they were able to locate the baby inside a pod. The confusing part was, they were supposed to track someone who is at least 50 years old, hence it was shocking to find a baby as the actual target. However, IG-11 explains that other planets and races actually have different aging processes. The baby is an essential part of the story since the Mandalorian actually stopped IG-11 from killing it by shooting the droid.

This revelation suggests that Star Wars fans would be given the chance to learn more about Yoda's back story, especially his ever-mysterious species name. If you recall, a rumor regarding the show exploring Yoda's story has actually gone around back in October. If this were true, with the addition of seeing the baby in the first episode, The Mandalorian might actually offer us a glimpse of Yoda's history.
