Star Wars: The Mandalorian To Reportedly Explore Yoda's Backstory

We're getting closer to the release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. Trailers and reports are slowly getting released in an effort to campaign for the series. Along with some tidbits of information, of course, rumors and leaks regarding The Mandalorian are inevitable. In particular, a new rumor has gone out about Yoda and what the series might feature about his background.

This rumor might contain spoilers, so if you do not plan on getting spoiled, do not read further.

According to Jason Ward of Making Star Wars, The Mandalorian might touch on Yoda's backstory and reveal his species. Ward was shown pictures by people associated with the production, the photos show "five or six unfinished Yoda species puppets in various states of completeness."

The episode might feature some characters which are of the same species as Yoda, and that the name of Yoda's species could potentially be revealed in the episode. George Lucas is said to be contributing some story elements in this episode, which Ward believes, might be the sixth episode of the first season.

This rumor could come as a surprise to the fans since it's been known that Yoda's backstory and species background were "off-limits." Ward shared a story that might be featured in the series which could potentially show the characters of the same species. He writes, "The Mandalorian goes after a bounty that is group or family of little green people the same species as Yoda." He adds, "Based on the differences in the puppet's technology I glimpsed, I would say they aren't just background or featured puppet extras so to speak."

It's certainly exciting to see more of Yoda's story in the series, and I'm sure this could be a treat to the fans who have always been curious about Yoda's background.
