Star Wars Gives Rey More Skill and Power Than The Skywalkers

Star Wars: The Force Awakens might have been a commercial and critical success for Lucasfilm, however, fans couldn't help but criticize the film's lead character, Rey (Daisy Ridley), for her overwhelming power and skill despite the lack of any sort of training.

Despite these concerns, it seems like Lucasfilm continues to push Rey's abilities, turning the Jakku Orphan into a Force user that could be more powerful than Luke and Anakin Skywalker.

Marvel just recently released Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Allegiance, a prequel comic book series featuring the events before Lucasfilm's third and final sequel trilogy movie. In the final chapter of the comic book series (via CBR), writer Ethan Sacks gives Rey another epic Force moment, showcasing the heroine's epic skills as a Force user.

In issue #4 of Allegiance, readers get to see Leia on a diplomatic mission to get Mon Cala back together with the Resistance in the fight against the First Order. Despite her attempts at negotiations, things spiral out of control, and Leia is forced to flee the city with Rey and the others. However, at the hangar, insurgents against Leia place a bomb that nearly kills the Resistance General and her entourage – if it weren't for the help of Rey. Containing the blast using an invisible Force-bubble, Rey suppresses the explosion and extinguishes the blast without losing any other Resistance member.

Everyone gawks in awe, including Rose, Chewie, and C-3PO. Leia tells the heroine, "I knew you had it in you, Rey."

Despite her limited training, it seems like Rey is getting stronger in the Force. We can only wonder how powerful Rey is going to be in Episode IX.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
