Lucasfilm has finally revealed the first phase of upcoming projects under Star Wars: The High Republic. Along with new characters and more stories to be told, it looks like Baby Yoda has some competition.

The High Republic trailer was recently released which provides a glimpse of what's to come and the process in making these projects. The trailer was filled with shots of the concept arts too.

In the part where Darth Maul designer Iain McCaig was shown, he was talking to someone off-screen. While some fans would be interested in the large Yoda concept art behind McCaig, what's intriguing are the pieces of paper with a few sketches seen just below him. The one on the very last piece of paper seems to be either another version of The Mandalorian character or the actual younger version of Yoda. You can check out the shot below.

Of course, this could just bear no meaning, but if it were the actual version of Yoda, this concept art could be featured in a flashback sequence of some sort. Considering that The High Republic is around 200 years prior to The Phantom Menace, the Jedi Master would be around 600 years old.

For now, it isn't clear who this character might be or what its connection is with the projects slated for Phase 1. Needless to say, Star Wars fans are curious to see if there'd be an actual younger version of the fan-favorite character or another creature similar to The Child.

The first books and comics are set to debut in August 2020 with Star Wars: The High Republic: Light of the Jedi.
