There is little doubt that Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi gave us an interesting new glimpse at some of the most intriguing characters in the Star Wars Universe. Not surprisingly, it has a lot to do with the voice cast's performance in the animated series. Dooku voice actor Corey Burton has just shared the awesome advice he received from George Lucas himself.
It's no secret that George Lucas is no longer the brains behind the new Star Wars content. Still, that doesn't mean he has completely turned his back on shows like Tales of the Jedi. Interestingly, Corey Burton has revealed that Lucas dropped some wisdom on the voice actors who play the Star Wars characters in the new animated shows.
Burton recently spoke to Slashfilm where he revealed what George Lucas told the voice cast when they were recording during the early days of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
"'I'm not doing movies anymore. This is now Star Wars. And this voice cast, you are now the official characters. So play it the way you would play it. Don't imitate the original actors, but do your own natural version of it,'" Lucas reportedly told the voice actors.
It certainly makes sense and fans have since embraced the new portrayals of Star Wars characters in the animated shows like Tales of the Jedi, The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch. With that in mind, we're hoping to get more of these amazing shows in the future.
Corey Burton first played Count Dooku in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He is also the voice of Cad Bane. Burton reprised his role as Dooku in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi.
