Star Wars: Project Maverick Announcement DELAYED

Word had come out yesterday that EA was ready to announce their next Star Wars game today, and while a lot of fans have gotten excited for the reveal of Project Maverick, it looks like the announce has been delayed.

According to Bespin Bulletin, there is now no definitive release date for the Star Wars: Project Maverick reveal, but it will definitely happen before June 18, which is the date of EA Play. We don't have any reason as to why the delay is taking place, but it's implied that it could have something to do with the #BlackLivesMatter protests still taking place around the world.

We don't have any details on Project Maverick yet, but some suspect that it will be an RPG, action-platformer which will focus on the world of bounty hunters and smugglers this time. There was originally a game being planned that would be an open world focused on the underground faction of Star Wars, and while that's been cancelled, it's possible that elements of that game have been ported over to Maverick.

Then again, this is all just speculation on my part. Personally I would prefer a game that focused more on pilots and starfighters, but I guess it would be cool to not focus on Jedi for once.

We don't know when Project Maverick is going to be officially announced, but when it is, I suspect it will have a release date set for 2021.
