The Mandalorian's second season marked the anticipated Star Wars return of Boba Fett and while a spinoff series for the iconic character may have always been part of the plan, thanks to the expansion of the "Mandoverse", it can't be denied that the strong reaction his return generated pretty much gave Lucasfilm faith the upcoming spinoff The Book of Boba Fett will actually work.
Speaking of, we still don't know much about the Temuera Morrison-led series other than the fact that it is set following the events of The Mandalorian Season 2. However, a Star Wars merch leak may have spoiled an appearance from a surprising character that has zero connection to Fett.
A Legacy Effect Crew Shirt for Buccaneer Season One (the show's official working title) leaked via Reddit and it features an image of Grogu aka Baby Yoda on the front.
Of course, this could most certainly be a hint that the Force-wielding creature may actually be part of the upcoming series which may come as a shock to some fans. And considering Baby Yoda is currently training with Luke Skywalker to learn the true ways to the Force, would it be a stretch to assume that the Jedi master could also appear on the show? Probably not.
Given the fact that Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze could end up vying for the Mandalore throne in The Mandalorian Season 3, it's safe to assume that the famed bounty hunter, along with his trusty ally Fennec Shand will go about their personal business. Now, it'll be interesting to see how The Book of Boba Fett fares, and honestly, The Mandalorian is a tough act to follow but I'm sure Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have a few tricks up their sleeves.
The Book of Boba Fett hits Disney+ later this year.
