It's no secret that Disney's Star Wars prequel trilogy failed to hit the mark with both fans and critics and to call it "divisive" would be a hell of an understatement. Despite that, the prequels still proved to be beneficial to the House of Mouse financially speaking. In fact, all films from the trilogy — The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker performed well at the box office which doesn't really come as a surprise since it's Star Wars we're talking about.

To be fair, the sequel trilogy started off pretty promising with Episode VII although it clearly drew massive inspiration from the original Star Wars film aka A New Hope. Rumors have been swirling around for months that Disney intends to erase the trilogy from existence but there seems to be no legitimacy behind the reports. I guess fans will just have to accept the fact that Rey Skywalker is actually a thing now.

The entire Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
