The new Star Wars film will feature Daisy Ridley's comeback as Rey Skywalker going on a new Jedi Academy adventure, confirms the Ms. Marvel director.
After the announcement of Rey's galaxy-shaking return to the big screen, the New Jedi Order film's director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy finally laid the groundwork on what to expect from her story.
Daisy Ridley Returns As Rey Skywalker in a New Jedi Adventure
Two-time Oscar Award-winning film director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy recently confirmed that Daisy Ridley's new Star Wars movie is set to take Rey Skywalker on a Jedi Academy adventure.
"The world that they want young viewers to sort of walk into and have an understanding of, at the heart of it, for me, is Rey Skywalker," Obaid-Chinoy explained, sharing why Rey would be the perfect main character to look forward to in the new Jedi Order movie.
The rumored title of the new Star Wars movie is A New Beginning, which, as the helmer revealed, will be Daisy Ridley going to Jedi Academy where she creates a word "that is a natural dovetail to the story that we've seen her go through in the last three episodes."

To reiterate, the upcoming Daisy Ridley project for Lucasfilm does not have an official title yet or release date, as the script has yet to be finished, but the helmer sparks hope that prepping for the film has been progressing smoothly.
However, Obaid-Chinoy has already spoken with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and had conversations with the big bosses including JJ Abrams, George Lucas, and Dave Filoni.
"I think the team is really taking time to make sure that we do justice to telling the story of Daisy," the helmer continued, "We've seen this wonderful journey she went on in Episode VII, VIII, and IX and now it's on to the next adventure. How do we create a world and that adventure that we take her on?"
