Star Wars Makes Massive Change to Boba Fett

A few months back, Star Wars caused a massive fan uproar after it shockingly changed the name of Boba Fett's iconic ship from Slave 1 to Firespray but apparently, the legendary science-fiction franchise has actually been subtly making changes to the famed bounty hunter all these years that most of you probably didn't even notice.

On a Reddit discussion thread, user @DanFelv posted on the Star Wars Speculation subreddit that Lucasfilm has made been making changes to Boba Fett's iconic helmet since his return in the second season of The Mandalorian. In fact, Season 2 saw actor Temuera Morrison sport two different Boba Fett helmets with one looking much cleaner than the other.

In the upcoming series The Book of Boba Fett, he dons a newly painted helmet that seems to mesh the color schemes of his Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian appearances. If you'll look at the image below, the shape of Boba's helmet has been drastically changed since his debut in The Empire Strikes Back and most fans didn't even realize it. Check it out here:

I gotta say, I'm digging this updated look for Boba Fett as it looks like the right mix of old and new. Now, it'll be interesting to see what other changes the Star Wars franchise will be making to the character in The Book of Boba Fett. I'm guessing there's probably a good chance that Fett will be ditching the Slave 1 name for his trusty ship so I guess fans need to get used to referring to it as Firespray.

The Book of Boba Fett streams on December 29th exclusively on Disney+.
