Star Wars Battlefront III's Future Reportedly Uncertain

There's no denying that Star Wars' Battlefront video game series has a cult following amongst gamers and diehard fans of the science-fiction epic alike. This is why the fan clamor has been strong for Electronic Arts to come up with a third installment, something that has been rumored for quite some time now. As it stands, we've yet to get confirmation about Star Wars Battlefront III and as evidenced by its publisher's social media activity over the last couple of months, it seems like EA has other plans in mind.

Now, a reliable industry leaker and insider is giving us a massive update about Battlefront III, and a disheartening report at that. On his official Twitter account, Tom Henderson claims that gaming developer DICE is currently working on their next video game title but it's not the anticipated Star Wars game. Instead, DICE is said to be moving forward with a new Battlefield title.

EA previously teased that a second installment in the Fallen Order series could be on its way and despite the 2018 game's popularity amongst gamers, the level of interest for Jedi Fallen Order II doesn't seem to be as high as that of Battlefront III.

We don't know for sure what the future holds for one of Star Wars' iconic video game titles but there have been major rumblings over the internet that the EA has put it on hold, perhaps due to Battlefront II's disastrous launch back in 2017.

Meanwhile, Star Wars Battlefront II is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows platforms.
