Is the Lando Movie Confirmed?
While little is known about its cast, development, and production, the Lando movie is confirmed by Lucasfilm according to Variety.
Originally, this was expected to be a Disney+ TV series.
We might not know why this change came to be, but the decision isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Many fans agree that Obi Wan Kenobi might have fared better as a movie due to the mini-series' repetitive storyline.
Perhaps a Lando movie will ensure a tighter pace.
What Will the Lando Movie Be All About?
So far, little is known about Lando's plot, although we do know that it will follow the titular gambler, con artist, and professional bad boy.
According to the latest news, Donald and Stephen Glover have replaced Justin Simien as the writers of Lando.
Not much else is known about the producers, writers, and directors of the movie.
Judging by Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) we would expect the show to be about Lando's pre-Empire Strikes Back days.
Of course, the movie may yet surprise us and be another New Republic story.
When Is the Lando Movie Coming Out? Release Date Predictions
So far, there has been no official confirmation about the Lando movie's release date.
The ongoing writer strike has pushed several projects back, so it might be a while before we get official confirmation.
Lando is among many forthcoming Star Wars projects including Andor Season 2, The Acolyte, and many more.
If we were to make an informed guess, we would predict late 2024 at the very earliest as a possible Lando release window.
However, since so little is known about the movie, it could take later.
Who Will Play Lando Calrissian?
The titular Lando will be portrayed by Donald Glover who will also be part of the writing team.
Glover also played Lando Calrissian in the 2018 Solo movie.
Other past roles include Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Rich Purnell in The Martian.
No other cast members are known so we have to wait and see if Alden Ehrenreich will reprise his role as Han Solo.
Is There A Lando Trailer?
So far, no trailer has been released for the Star Wars Lando movie, hence the difficulty in determining its plot or when it takes place in the timeline.
