Star Wars: The Acolyte Plot: What Will be the Plot of the Disney+ Series?

The Star Wars lore has grown over the years and a lot of things are already introduced to the public but it doesn't disappoint when it opens its doors to what happened before, during, or after a well-known period on its timeline.

As for Star Wars: The Acolyte, it will be set around a hundred years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.

Series creator Leslye Headland has confirmed that the series will have the largest number of Jedi characters we've ever seen in any Star Wars show so far.

It will be marking the end of the High Republic era where secrets are lurking around and the darkness starts to emerge.

It will focus on a former Padawan who will be meeting her Jedi Master once more to solve a series of crimes. However, what they uncover is something bigger than they expected, something much more sinister.

Here is the official description of Star Wars: The Acolyte as provided by starwars.com:

"The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.
A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated."

During the Star Wars Celebration 2023, showrunner Leslye Headland revealed that the series will be Frozen meets Kill Bill.

Speaking to IGN, Headland shared, "What I pitched to Kathleen Kennedy was Frozen meets Kill Bill. Shockingly, she didn’t kick me out of the building."

Headland added,

"It's High Republic near the beginning of the prequels and an exciting part of the timeline. This is when the bad guys are outnumbered.
They are the underdogs. I’m really excited for you guys to see things you haven’t seen in live action yet.”

Headland further explained:

"So much of it was about the sister relationship, so much of it was about the villain actually being a powerful, misunderstood woman. There was just so much of it that I couldn't believe what I was watching."

Headland revealed the Frozen part of the series, "I couldn't believe that it was a cartoon with music. It was hitting me on such a deep level and yet servicing the genre so well."

The Kill Bill part is also explained by Headland, "I think it's a really good reference for the modern-day martial arts film."

Headland concluded:

"Obviously, Tarantino took inspiration from a lot of the movies that our action team and a lot of our design team pulled from — which is stuff from the Shaw brothers to Akira Kurosawa in his samurai films, but also films like Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."
