Just when you thought Disney has already learned its lesson on how to properly handle the Star Wars franchise, the House of Mouse made yet another questionable decision that didn't sit well with a lot of fans. Earlier this week, news broke out that Disney has officially renamed Boba Fett's iconic Slave I and gave it a much more "tame" title — Boba Fett's Starship. The issue caused quite the frenzy within the fandom and safe to say that the majority of fans weren't thrilled with the change.

One of the first persons connected to the franchise to voice out his sentiment regarding the issue was Mark Anthony Austin who played the character in the 1997 Special Edition of A New Hope. Initially, fans lauded him for calling out Disney but things ultimately went south and Austin is now drawing flak for his stand regarding the matter. Some people believe that Austin is just riding the issue that doesn't even concern him.

It all began when Austin posted yet another statement regarding the Slave I issue that saw the actor refer to himself as Mark (Boba Fett) Austin. Bonafide fans quickly pointed out that he was only a stand-in for Boba Fett in the 1997 version of Episode IV and he only "played" the character for 14 seconds. Check out the reactions below:

Meanwhile, Disney has yet to formally address the matter and as it stands, Fett's starship isn't reverting back to being called Slave I. It's not the wisest thing the House of Mouse has done but let's be real here, we're already used to them making questionable decisions so it shouldn't come as a surprise anymore.

Meanwhile, The Book of Boba Fett will hit Disney+ in December.
