Star Wars: Damon Lindelof Casts Doubt On Developing New Movie

There is little doubt that people are currently wary about which new Star Wars project is moving forward or not. Still, it looks like the unnamed film that Damon Lindelof is supposed to work on is currently expected to continue development. Although this should be great news, the Watchmen showrunner himself feels some uncertainty as he opened up about the pressures of working for Lucasfilm and Disney.

Damon Lindelof recently spoke to SlashFilm about his Star Wars project and although he didn't share a lot of details, the Lost co-creator admitted that writing for the film is not easy at all.

"I will just say, that for reasons that I can't get into on this Sunday morning, on this day, the degree of difficulty is extremely, extremely, extremely high. If it can't be great, it shouldn't exist," Lindelof said.

"That's all I'll say, because I have the same association with it as you do, which is, it's the first movie I saw sitting in my dad's lap, four years old, May of '77," he continued.

"I think it's possible that sometimes when you hold something in such high reverence and esteem, you start to get in the kitchen and you just go, 'Maybe I shouldn't be cooking. Maybe I should just be eating.' We'll just leave it at that point," Lindelof concluded.

We're truly hoping that Damon Lindelof manages to overcome the pressure that comes with working on such a project and delivers a Star Wars movie that we can all truly enjoy. In the meantime, we'll be waiting for hopeful updates on the film in the next few months.

Damon Lindelof was confirmed to pen the script for an untitled Star Wars project back in October 2022. For now, the only other name attached to the movie is director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
