There's no denying that Lucasfilm struck gold with The Mandalorian, a show that pretty much reinvigorated the entire Star Wars franchise and took the brand to unprecedented new heights. The triumph of the Disney+ series has left the door wide open for the production company to explore more stories in the Star Wars lore that have yet to be uncovered and as we await the premiere of Mando Season 3, Lucasfilm will first take us into a brand new adventure with legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett.
The Book of Boba Fett is set to hit the streaming service later this year and apart from the return of Boba and Fennec Shand, the show could also end up featuring another fan-favorite Star Wars character who made his official debut in the franchise in The Mandalorian's second season.
Timothy Olyphant recently appeared on CONAN and the rugged look he sported during his interview is suspiciously quite similar to his character Cobb Vanth who first appeared in The Mandalorian Season 2's first episode titled "The Marshal". Now, considering the fact that The Book of Boba Fett has reportedly wrapped up filming, this of course led a lot of fans to believe that Olyphant actually reprised his role in the forthcoming series.
It may sound like a huge stretch but the idea of Olyphant returning to the Star Wars franchise doesn't sound too farfetched taking into consideration his indirect ties to Fett. The Mandalorian didn't exactly explore how Vanth got hold of the Mandalorian armor originally worn by Fett and the upcoming series could be the perfect venue to give fans some much-needed clarity. And let's be honest, we need to see more of Cobb Vanth in the franchise.
The Book of Boba Fett is scheduled to premiere in December on Disney+.
