Star Wars Celebration 2022 was supposed to happen in 2020, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone was sent to retreat to their homes and stay indoors to help prevent the spread of the virus. After years of being delayed, the event is finally happening this May and tickets are going back on sale again but for a limited time only.
As announced on the official website of Star Wars Celebration, ticked for the upcoming event will be available once more on March 15 at 9 AM PT but it will only be limited considering the health and safety protocols which would be followed so the event could push through. All the attendees are expected to adhere to these rules, too.
The announcement reads, "Star Wars Celebration fans, get ready. A limited quantity of tickets is going back on sale, March 15th at 9 a.m. PT. Star Wars Celebration is taking place on May 26th-29th bringing you major announcements, immersive exhibits, an interactive show floor, screenings, exclusive merchandise, celebrity guests, panels, autograph sessions, fan-inspired activities, costumes, and other surprises celebrating all things Star Wars!"
Health and safety guidelines are also posted on the site, "In order to provide the best and safest fan experience possible, Star Wars Celebration 2022 will require proof of full vaccination for age 5+ from an FDA- or WHO-approved or authorized vaccine.”

In addition to that, attendees below five years of age are required to present a negative antigen or PCR test and face masks are mandatory as well, “For attendees under age 5, we will require proof of a negative test with a timestamp showing it was performed no more than one day before admission (antigen) or two days before admission (PCR). Every attendee will be required to wear an approved face covering at all times while attending the show.”
The organizers of the show event ensures that it would be a safe celebration of the franchise, “We've taken proactive steps and implemented guidelines based on public health guidance to help support a safe and comfortable experience. Our team is constantly reviewing the Star Wars Celebration requirements."
The fans were held back in 2020, the 40th year anniversary of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and finally, the event is happening where they can honor the said date in various ways that even with the delay, the new schedule fills in the 45th anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope which came out in theaters on May 25, 1977.
The program of this year’s Star Wars Celebrations is not yet released but everyone is just as excited as to what the event has in store, especially with the 45th anniversary of one of the films of the franchise in line with it.
Tickets would be available at the official website of Star Wars Celebration on March 15 and it will be open at 9 AM PT. Star Wars Celebration 2022 will be happening from May 26 to 29.
