Shin Hyun Joon looked back at one of the Stairway To Heaven scenes in which he had to slap actress Kim Tae Hee.
The 2003 Kdrama series featured Choi Ji Woo, Kwon Sang Woo, Kim Tae Hee, and Shin Hyun Joon. It became a hit flick in South Korea and abroad, having a whopping average viewership rating of 38.8 percent.
Its finale even scored a 45.3 percent viewership rating.
Aside from heartbreaking scenes between the main stars, Shin Hyun Joon also had a scene with Kim Tae Hee that the actor still feels sorry even though decades have already passed.

Shin Hyun Joon Opens Up About Slapping Kim Tae Hee in Stairway To Heaven
Ahead of Shin Hyun Joo's movie The Assassin premiere, the actor sat down for an interview (via Wikitree) Monday and spoke about the time he slapped the actress hard in the 2003 drama.
According to the actor, the scene left him with the deepest impression. He noted that Kim Tae Hee was still a rookie actress at that time, but he had to repeatedly hit her in many scenes. With that, he still feels sorry about those things, although two decades have already passed.

"The director told us that I needed to slap her really hard for the scene to work," Shin Hyun Joon said. "So I hit her really hard. It was when she just debuted so it was a time when she was a rookie that wasn't well aware of things. It must have been really hard for her but she really did well."
Aside from those scenes, he also acknowledges the drama's popularity. He applauded the team's hard work during the filming and that they received overwhelming attention from fans.
Shin Hyun Joon noted that there are still young viewers who watch the drama and cry whenever they see him since they become emotionally attached to the series.
Where Are Stairway To Heaven Cast Members Now?
Aside from Shin Hyun Joon, the other cast members of the K-drama series also enjoyed the spotlight since starring in Stairway To Heaven.
Choi Ji Woo made her latest drama appearance in Sh**ting Stars. She also starred in several series in the past years, including The Most Beautiful Goodbye, The Suspicious Housekeeper, Woman with a Suitcase. Second 20s, and a cameo in Crash Landing on You.
She got married to her non-celebrity boyfriend in 2018 and welcomed their first child together in May 2020.
Kwon Sang Woo will appear in the upcoming movie, No Kids. He is also part of the 2023 film Switch and the 2022 movies and series Why Her?, Curtain Call, and The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure.
Meanwhile, Kim Tae Hee has not appeared in any dramas since her comeback in Hi Bye, Mama!. She married Rain in 2017 after five years of dating. The couple has two children together.
