To enjoy better English subtitles, you have to choose "English" in the setting. The other option is "English [CC]."

The second one, English Closed Captions subtitles, is intended for deaf or have difficulty hearing, CNET reported.

"Captions not only display words as the textual equivalent of spoken dialogue or narration, but they also include speaker identification, sound effects, and music description," according to the National Association of the Deaf.

In short, the English [CC] setting provides a description of sounds, gasps, and prompts. It also includes who is speaking.

They are often auto-generated and a closer match to the English dub than the English subtitles. But the "English" subtitle offers better translation.
