Spy x Family Episode 8 is finally out and the anime finally gave Yuri Briar a proper introduction after numerous teases about the character's upcoming debut. Yuri is an important player in the series so it's no surprise that he got his own character poster before the episode aired earlier today!
The official Spy x Family anime Twitter account shared the key visual featuring Yuri Briar in his State Security Service uniform with a huge bouquet of flowers in his right hand. He also appears to be smiling amicably in the poster which is a welcome sight for fans. Check it out below.
The poster also celebrates Kensho Ono's official debut as Yuri Briar in Spy x Family. Ono was previously heard in the second episode and again in the Episode 7 post-credits scene where Yuri learned about his sister's marriage.
Yuri Briar is Yor Forger's brother and although she believes he is only working as a civil servant at the foreign ministry, he is secretly an SSS counterintelligence agent. As the tweet shared by the Spy x Family English account suggests, Yuri is a potential threat to Operation Strix if he finds out Loid Forger is Twilight, the master spy he has been looking for all this time.
Spy x Family Episode 8 gave Yuri a great introduction, revealing his efficacy as a counterintelligence agent as well as his childhood under the care of his sister. It was also confirmed that Yuri doesn't like Loid because he feels Loid doesn't deserve Yor. With that in mind, we can't wait to see more of Yuri in the upcoming episodes of the anime.
Spy x Family Episode 9 is titled Show Off How in Love You Are ("Rabu Rabu o Misetsukeyo") and will air on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
