Spider-Man: No Way Home Seemingly Confirms Returning Character from Raimi Trilogy

We're only two months away from the highly anticipated release of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Sony Pictures has already kickstarted the marketing campaign for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film. As it stands, the third Spidey film under the Homecoming series is still shrouded by mystery but according to reports, the project will mark the grand returns of iconic Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield who have long been rumored to be involved in the film.

As for its main villains, there seems to be more proof that the Sinister Six will in fact be featured in the film. Empire Magazine's special Spider-Man: No Way Home cover may have just revealed another returning Marvel villain who has long been rumored to be part of the "multiversal" Sinister Six. The said cover features trippy imagery and if you'll give it a closer look, you'll notice Sandman's hand in the artwork.

Now, it would be safe to assume that Spider-Man 3's Thomas Haden Church is actually the version of the character we could end up seeing in the film and it's not like there have been any live-action Sandman actors in the past other than him. Check it out here:

Of course, the possibility of the MCU introducing an entirely different Sandman to the fold is still extremely huge but with the film's multiversal implications, it wouldn't be too farfetched to believe that the Raimi-verse version of Flint Marco is the one appearing. I gotta say though, Sandman is quite an odd choice but I guess he's better than Topher Grace's version of Venom.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas on December 17, 2021.
