Spider-Man: Homecoming Will Have a Credits Scene

Spidey's first movie out in the MCU won't break tradition. So make sure you stay in your seats even after the credits start rolling.

In an exclusive interview with Fandango, Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts revealed that yes, there is a reason to stick around.

"Of course! Absolutely. How disappointing would it be if there was just nothing? Like if this was the one movie where we said, nope, no after-credits scene!"

Still, he did not specify whether this would be a mid-credits scene or truly an after-credits scene, since MCU movies do tend to feature both. This is expected, after all, since Marvel has always had the habit of utilizing the individual solo movies to further the ensemble movies. Or at the very least, make sure that the superhero movies are obviously connected into the universe.

My guess is that it could be a reconciliation scene for Peter. After all, it seems that Tony Stark is hell-bent on not making him feel like he's too integral for the Avengers—probably because he knows the dangers and Peter is still, technically, a kid.

The only sad thing that Watts revealed is that he's not yet sure if he will be coming onboard for the sequel. Again, this is not uncommon, as in the case of Thor's threequel, each of which has had a different director.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be out in theaters on July 7.
