Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse managed to explore different universes and dimensions throughout the Spider-Verse with one of them being the LEGO universe where the entire world is made out of LEGO bricks.

While it wasn't the audience's first rodeo in the LEGO universe on the big screen, it is still exciting nonetheless to see them explore it even for a brief amount of time. It is also an easter egg to the character's history in merchandise.

Now, as we're starting to learn more details about the making of the film, we now know the story behind the brief LEGO scene and its origins might actually surprise you.

During a recent IMAX screening of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hosted by Collider, co-director Joaquim Dos Santos revealed that the film's LEGO sequence was actually created by 14-year-old YouTuber LegoMe_TheOG.

After the YouTuber's LEGO creation for the first teaser trailer went viral a few months ago, producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller recruited him to the project and tasked him to create the entire LEGO scene in the film.

"The funny thing about the LEGO scene, that was a kid that recreated one of the teasers on social media, so he was hired. That was a 14-year-old’s work," Dos Santos said.

"It was him and his dad that helped out, but it was a really neat thing. Can you imagine getting that call? I think they thought it was a prank, ‘What are you talking about?’

This is certainly a very surprising and impressive behind-the-scenes detail about the film and it is obviously more mind-blowing to know that a 14-year-old was in charge of the sequence and there is no doubt that he did a great job as we've seen the results in the film.

It is also an inspiring story for aspiring filmmakers or creative people since this could encourage them to do videos and post them online with the hopes that a major Hollywood figure will notice them.

So far, there are no details yet on whether the LEGO universe will surface again in the third film. If it ever does, hopefully, the YouTuber will still be involved as he has proven that he is a talented and creative person for this particular filmmaking.
