While Spider-Man 4 may have been reportedly experiencing behind-the-scenes issues upon early reveal that another Spidey sequel is being made underway, a new report indicating the potential release date of Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker surfaces.

There is no doubt that Tom Holland’s portrayal of Spider-Man / Peter Parker remains to be one of the best, as he had proven in his continuous MCU appearances, from his debut in Captain America: Civil War up to his most recent being Spider-Man: No Way Home, wherein he starred alongside Sam Raimi’s Tobey Maguire and Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man Andrew Garfield.

According to the report from @MarvelNewsHere on Twitter, Holland’s Spider-Man 4 is now expected to be released sometime in 2025. However, there are no other details included in the tweet, aside from an image containing Tom Holland, despite no sign of any movement from the actor so far. Check out the tweet below:

To recap, Holland has been through quite a lot in the last year, as he had not only left social media for the time being in order to focus on his mental health, but he was also reportedly considering settling down away from Hollywood.

During his January 2022 interview with Deadline, when the actor was asked on whether he sees himself still sporting the red and blue tights in his future, he clearly stated he isn’t ready to say goodbye to the character yet, “I don’t know. I know I love this character, and I know that I am not ready to say goodbye.”

Although, in the same interview, he also mentioned he wouldn’t mind letting another “lucky kid” don the super suit after him, “There’s a part of me that feels like it’s the perfect time to jump off the building and swing off into the sunset and let the next lucky young kid come in to don the suit.”

As it stands, nothing has been set to stone yet, so we’ll have to wait for further official announcements from Marvel and Sony, and of course, Tom Holland himself. For now, you can catch Holland’s Spider-Man Trilogy on multiple VOD platforms.
