It's long been rumored that Spider-Man 3 will feature not one, not two, but three Spider-Men in what can be best described as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of the Spider-Verse. Aside from the franchise's Spidey actor Tom Holland, both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are heavily being rumored to appear in the project.

Recent reports claim that Garfield has already signed on for the film and is just waiting for his cue to begin shooting. Tobey, on the other hand, is reportedly playing hard to get and the actor's alleged "diva" attitude isn't sitting quite well with the folks over at Marvel Studios. According to a Patreon scoop from tipster Daniel Richtman, the studio is furious over Maguire's behavior.

"Marvel angry with Tobey Maguire for acting like a diva on Spider-Man 3. Tobey keeps acting like a diva, that pisses Marvel off," an unnamed source told Richtman. Maguire has been dragged into several controversies surrounding his "attitude problem" and according to gossips, the actor is quite difficult to work with which could explain why we don't see him in the limelight that much these days.

Of course, these are only rumors for now so take it with a grain of salt but if they end up being true, this only goes to show how adamant Marvel Studios is about getting Maguire on board. And quite honestly, at this point, he seems to be the final puzzle piece that will complete the project and turn it into the most ambitious superhero film ever so I'm truly hoping he ends up appearing in it.

Spider-Man 3 is scheduled for release in December.
