Marvel Studios promised us in mid-2020 that our very first look at Spider-Man 3 will drop last December, but the supposed teaser has yet to see the light of day. According to the latest rumors, the reason behind it is they're still waiting for Tobey Maguire to sign his contract to reprise his role as Peter Parker.

The Tom Holland superhero flick started production last month, but there seems to be a problem with the rumored negotiations between the studio and Maguire. Tipster Daniel Richtman (via Patreon) is claiming that Tobey is "acting like a diva" and is asking for a whopping $15 million to agree to make an appearance in the sequel.

Several sources have reported last month that Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Kirsten Dunst have all signed on to reprise their respective roles and officially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Maguire seems to be the final piece left in the puzzle.

Sure, 15 million is a lot of money but I believe Tobey has the right to demand such an amount especially considering fans have been dying to see him back as Spider-Man. But if he ends up getting paid more than the film's original cast, including Holland himself, that would totally be an issue. We still have no clue what happens for sure so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Spider-Man 3 is slated for release on December 17, 2021.
