Song Hye Kyo is officially back in the spotlight with the continuous arrival of new projects in her career.

After playing the role of Cha Soo-Hyun on tvN's Encounter, Song Hye Kyo waited for years until she finally landed on the new series, Now, We Are Breaking Up. The series marks her comeback to the small screen and her co-star Jang Ki-Young's last role before starting his military duties.

Although the series is yet to end its romantic story, the actress garnered another role which she would work on starting next year.

Song Hye Kyo To Offer Fans New Drama The Glory

Insight Korea confirmed that Song Hye Kyo would appear in the new drama made by scriptwriter Kim Eun Sook. The news outlet added the filming would begin sometime next year. JTBC also disclosed that The Glory would also enter Netflix's list of dramas once it is ready to be aired.

"The plan for the drama 'The Glory' has been confirmed. It has been confirmed that the drama will be presented to viewers all across the globe through Netflix," the company said, as quoted by AllKpop.

The Glory tells the story of Song Hye Kyo's character, who suffered from bullying. The woman takes revenge on the bully by becoming the homeroom teacher of the tyrant's child. Other details about the actress' role remain unknown. However, fans can expect it to be another hit since Kim Eun Sook already worked on several hard-hitting dramas, including Descendants of the Sun and Goblin.

Meanwhile, multiple news outlets claimed Lee Do Hyun is currently being considered to take on the role of the male lead. His character helps Song Hye Kyo take revenge against her bully.

Since both Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun are currently tied with their current dramas Now, We Are Breaking Up and Melancholia, respectively, it is expected that the filming for The Glory would start once they finish their projects.

Song Hye Kyo Becoming Korea's Highest-Paid Actress In The K-Drama Industry

With the arrival of The Glory, Song Hye Kyo might win the crown against Jun Ji Hyun and another South Korean actress in being the highest-paid actress.

Insider reports revealed both Song Hye Kyo and Jun Ji Hyun receive around $170,000 per episode for their current productions. On Jun Ji Hyun's part, she currently headlines tvN's Jirisan.

Song Joong Ki's ex-wife began to double her rate after her 2018 tvN drama, Boyfriend. For Jun Ji Hyun's part, she began earning around $85,000 per episode since 2013 through You Who Came From the Stars.

Though they are currently tied on their per episode salary, Song Hye Kyo might earn more starting next year.
