aespa member Giselle sparked concerns after being spotted alone at the Incheon Airport.

After weeks of promoting in New York City, aespa was expected to return to their home country over the weekend.

The group successfully held their first USA fan event, meeting their international fans who showed up with a cookie truck. They even surprised the girls by showing aespa's music videos on its white screen. They particularly collaborated with SM Entertainment, Chip City, and EV Foods to honor the efforts they made this 2021. They also became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

However, Korean fans got worried when they spotted Giselle alone at the Incheon Airport following the overseas event.

SM Entertainment Clarifies Why Giselle Was Alone

Far from disbanding buzzes, SM Entertainment provided the real reason why Giselle was the only aespa member the public spotted in the airport.

According to the label (via AllKpop), the three other members – Karina, Winter, and Ningning – underwent COVID-19 tests in Incheon after arriving with cold symptoms. No additional information was disclosed as SM Entertainment refused to comment on how the three members caught the illness.

The tests were part of the country's entry procedure to eliminate the virus and lessen the number of cases in South Korea.

Most recently, several K-pop idols have been tested positive for the virus, including BLACKPINK's Lisa. The YG Entertainment rapper is reportedly asymptomatic and has already received her COVID-19 vaccine.

aespa Is Not Disbanding Anytime Soon

There is no way aespa would disband soon, especially since the group poses to follow Girls' Generation and TWICE's legacies.

Soon after debuting with the song BLACK MAMBA, it became the fastest K-pop group debut music video to reach the 100 million views mark. It scored the title from TWICE, who previously got the record through Ooh Ahh.

The arrival of Next Level strengthened their position in the industry, making them one of the most sought-after monster rookies of the new generation.

With that said, it is safe to say that aespa is far from getting disbanded. Instead, the girl group might become the next biggest Korean act soon.
