What Happened in Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 7?
In Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 7, Ouroboros, Layton enters into a dream-like state where he sees an entirely different looking Eternal Engine and he gets abducted by two men. Javi, Wilford, and Ruth saved him. He sees Ben issuing passes for people to cross the borders inside the train. Posing as a dancer, Layton got through the border patrol officers and gets across. Layton sees Roche and he trades a doll with him to get Winnipeg a new one.
Outside of Layton’s dream, Josie sees Layton in the Tail where he is in a coma and she takes him under the care of Dr. Pelton. Back in Layton’s dream, Lilah Jr. was a border patrol officer who found out that Layton faked his identity to get across. Layton survived but he gets arrested. Behind bars, Pike pays him a visit and asks him to confess his sins to be absolved, stating that there are tons of bodies piled up at the canteen and that Layton has to start with that.
Layton, penitent, said that he just wants to come home but home is nowhere to be found. Layton confronts Pike and the latter says he just wants the truth of New Eden to come out. Layton, on the other hand, said he did not have a choice and in an ominous tone, Pike seeks God’s mercy for Layton’s soul. Layton is still persistent to keep his secret.
In real life, Bess asks Audrey to help Layton heal as she tries to reach him from within. Audrey talks to Layton to get out of his dream and that he has a lot of things to do in the real world. In Layton’s dream, he found Audrey who released him from prison. After getting out, Layton goes to the Tail where Josie guards the Tail boss, there, he found out that the Tail boss is his daughter’s grown-up version, Liana.
Still in Layton’s dream, a bomb exploded from the doll of Winnipeg. Layton confronts someone trying to kill him but Asha was there to save him by killing the person who threatened his life. Layton keeps demanding to Asha for her to open a locker. Despite Asha’s resistance, Layton gets his way and takes a look at the contents of the locker where there is a picture of the tree from his vision.
That made him realize he is in a dream and he jolts awake in real life. As Layton comes out of coma, he thinks of the tree from his vision and he remembers where he saw that picture: in a photograph while saving Asha at the underground reactor.
As he found out that the last remaining spot in Melanie’s research is somewhere in Arabia where such is the only place where the tree in his visions grow, he takes the fate of the whole train there, considering himself as a messiah of what remains of humanity.
On the other hand, Wilford is back on his feet and he remains obsessed with looking for something that he asked Alex for maps and equipment as he remembered something. Wilford tells Alex that while they were away on the pirate train, they received a signal from Marseille, France. Alex clarified that the pirate train never passed that region and Wilford conclude that the signal could be from Melanie, the only one who could send a signal like that.
What is the Title of Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 8?
Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 8 is titled “Setting Itself Right."
Picking up where the previous run of the show left, it seems that there is a hint that Melanie may still be alive because Wilford knew that she is the only one capable to send such a signal aside from the trains, of course, and with the pirate train not passing through that region, it could only be Melanie.
However, questions arise as to how Melanie got to France and how she survived the cold for the whole period of time when the pirate train and Snowpiercer was separated. That was half a year. That is, unless, Melanie got some sort of transportation or there are other survivors out there.
