In Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 2, The Last To Go, Layton and the team finally learn about Asha and they struggled to find a signal with the satellites being of no use. Running blind in the cold, the pirate train continues to look for New Eden, a place where the world could possibly start over again and live a life beyond the train tracks.

On Snowpiercer, Wilford decided to throw a huge party for the wedding of Lilah Jr. and Oz as a way of a distraction for the people and of an indicator of what the people could have should they stay loyal to him. Meanwhile, Ruth surrenders herself to give Lights and Pike the time to disable the EMP weapon built by Mrs. Headwood and Kevin for Layton’s death. However, things did not go as planned.

With the help of Strong Boy, they discarded the EMP from the train by recalling what happened in year two of the rebellion. It was effective, though, in terms of totally eliminating the threat and at the same time, it became useful to Layton and the pirate train crew to determine where the Snowpiercer is, leaving the Eternal Engine blind in locating them as well.

Ruth prepares to have her arm cut off in front of the Tailies and Pike is now the head of the resistance. While Wilford was about to cut Ruth’s arm and put it out in the freezing cold, Layton and the pirate train arrives on the line parallel to Snowpiercer, giving Wilford the surprise that he never knew would come and neither did he anticipate it. He orders everyone to go to their stations and prepare for war.

The final scene speaks volumes. Pike is seen to be feeling so much weight on being the new leader of the resistance and Ruth having to sacrifice for their cause. Ruth had so much heart that she reminded Wilford to love the people because that is what would make them loyal to him but he never listened to them.

Wilford still struggles to assert his leadership aboard and with his barbaric way of running things, many are joining the resistance. The pirate train is getting somewhere in locating another place possible for life to thrive and even when Layton’s vision seems prophetic, Till says people would just laugh at him if he discloses it. Even when some of those on the pirate train looks like they are losing hope, it only took one person to lift them up – Layton.

Their research may not be as successful as predicted, yet, seeing and having Asha in person shows that life could thrive beyond the train. She lived in the freezing cold for eight years and survived. That, itself, tells so much that there is more to life than living on a lifeboat such as Snowpiercer.

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 2 is now streaming on the TNT app and website. It will be released along with all the ten episodes on Netflix after the finale airs on television.
