Sister Wives star Christine Brown shared an update about her and Kody Brown and how her decision affected the others. Christine admitted she knew leaving Kody would break hearts. However, it was her only choice to save herself.
Sister Wives Star Christine Brown Breaks Heart With Kody Split
Christine Brown spoke with host Sukanya Krishnan in a one-on-one conversation on Sunday's episode of Sister Wives. According to her, Robyn was "sad" by her decision.
"It's not fun breaking people's hearts," Christine was quoted by People as saying. "I mean, at my core, I just want people to be happy and I just want people to feel loved. But I knew I was making a decision that would break hearts and it tore me apart. And it was super, super sad."
She continued that when she was still with Kody she felt like a "basement wife." Also, she felt that at the time, she "chose to be weaker," and it eventually cost her, herself.
"I chose to just let it happen and I chose to be weaker. I just did," she explained. "Every single day of my life, I wake up and I have a choice to make if I'm in a situation like that. And in the end, I would love to just be strong and be like, 'No, no, no, no,' and just cause more contention. ... Or, I can just go, 'Okay, okay. That's fine, that's fine, that's fine,' and make it easier. But then, in the end, I lose myself. The cost is me."
Christine said she put everybody else first most of the time. She always considered Kody's needs first. She played the peacemaker and always thought of her sisters Janelle and Meri's needs. She also thought of the children and what they wanted.
"It left me running on empty and I asked [Kody] for help. I'm like, 'I can't do this anymore.' He was like, 'You're just changing all the agreements.' I said, 'I'm overwhelmed.' And he couldn't help," she added.

Christine Brown and Kody Brown often argued when they were still together. It is well-documented on their TLC show.
Christine had been very open on how unhappy and unsatisfied she was with their marriage. In November, the couple announced that they decided to part ways after being together for 25 years.
When Christine was asked about her relationship with Kody after their split, she said they were "completely separated."
"Kody and I are divorced. We're completely separate," she said.
Christine no longer holds the same religious beliefs as the Brown family. They are members of the Apostolic United Brethren, a Mormon group that practices polygamy.
"In our church, polygamous women can leave. They're not trapped. They can leave if they want to leave and if it's not working," she explained. "They have to go through proper channels and stuff, but then they can get a release. I haven't been a member of that church for a long time and I left a long time ago."
She added, "I just think that God's fine if I just want to be happy."
Meanwhile, Kody said he was "comfortable" with where Christine stands in her religious beliefs.
On the other hand, Robyn doesn't think everything has officially ended between Kody and Christine.
"Christine says they're divorced and technically, in my head, they're not because their marriage was done by our church officials," Robyn said. "They haven't granted them a divorce."
