Single’s Inferno added a new flavor to Netflix when it first hit the platform.

In December, Netflix officially presented Single’s Inferno to its subscribers. The show features several single people who have been stranded on a deserted island. For nine days, the first cast members spent time together and accepted challenges to win a trip to Paradise with their chosen partner.

During the season’s finale, couples successfully made it out of the island.

Despite the criticisms it faced due to some of its cast members, questions about whether it would be back for a second season emerged.

Single’s Inferno Season 2 Reportedly Began Casting; Netflix Responds

Two months since the show ended, TV Daily reported that the reality TV dating show renewed its contract for a second season.

The same news outlet said that it started casting, but it did not disclose when they would release it.

Netflix, as reported by Naver, has already responded to the reports. The streaming giant dismissed the claims of the reported ongoing development in the series’ season 2, but it also did not totally close the doors for a possible installment.

“Nothing has been decided regarding the production of a second season for ‘Single’s Inferno,’” it said.

The first season presented a group of men and women, including Song Ji Ah, Kim Hyeon Joong, An Yea Won, Choi Si Hun, Moon Se Hoon, Oh Jin Taek, Kang So Yeon, Seong Min Ji, Kim Jun Sik, Kim Su min, Shin Ji Yeon, and Cha Hyun Seung.

Single’s Inferno Season 1 Does Not Want To Return

Whether Netflix would launch a new season or not, it might need to find other contestants as the original cast members are not keen to return.

After Single’s Inferno’s last episode, the cast members created their YouTube channels where they shared whether they would return for a Single’s Inferno Season 2.

During Moon Se Hoon’s Q&A, a fan asked him if he would be interested in returning, but he left no interest in doing so. The other contestants offered a similar reaction and displayed no enthusiasm for a second season.

The issues surrounding the show might also have contributed to their decision not to be interested in returning anymore. For what it’s worth, Song Ji Ah faced criticisms for using fake designer items, while Moon Se Hoon faced condemnation for his alleged obsessive behavior toward Shin Ji Yeon.

With that said, it is highly unlikely Single’s Inferno Season 2 would happen – at least if it aims to feature the original cast members again.
