Students at the school compete in a ball tournament that includes sports such as soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Shikimori then informs her boyfriend, Izumi, that she and Neko will be joining the volleyball team.

On the other hand, Izumi will be joining the soccer team alongside Inusuka. While they both want to support each other, the timing of their games unfortunately overlaps. As a result, Izumi holds Shikimori's hands and sends his adorable good luck vibes to his girlfriend, much to the latter's embarrassment.

The episode then switches to Izumi's soccer game, where he has a lot of awful luck. Shikimori is agonizingly watching from the sidelines, worrying about her boyfriend's clumsiness.

Izumi lies down in the nurse's office, taking a break from his soccer game. In keeping with this, Shikimori confides in Izumi about his clumsiness and how it causes her constant worry. She even tells Izumi to be by her side at all times in order to protect him.

While Izumi is relieved to hear Shikimori is worried about him, he assures her that he can also protect her. As a result, Shikimori teases Izumi that she will not return to the volleyball game but will instead hide beside Izumi in his bed, much to Izumi's blushing face.

Shikimori appears to be confident in her teasing of Izumi, but the truth is revealed when Shikimori blushes outside the nurse's office and monologues about how far she has teased her unfortunate boyfriend.

Shikimori then heads to the volleyball team, where she will face off against the other class, which has a volleyball ace, Kamiya, on their team. She works hard with Neko to rack up points one by one. Despite the fact that the soccer game has been lost, Izumi and Inusuka proceed to root for the volleyball team.

Izumi gives Shikimori his loudest cheer when he sees the score. With that said, Shikimori adopts her cool demeanor and declares that she will not be defeated by the opposing team.

Fortunately, the volleyball team won thanks to Shikimori and Neko's command. Shikimori and Neko get tremendous popularity and fangirls at school a few days later. While Shikimori wants to spend time with Izumi, her followers continue to request that she eat lunch with them, and so on. A flying ball appears out of nowhere in the middle of the discourse, hitting Inusuka in the face after pushing Izumi away.

Shikimori's aura changes as she sees Izumi caring for Inusuka, and she becomes enraged at the sight of the two boys. As a result, Shikimori's supporters are gagging at the sight of his enraged visage. It turns out that they prefer Shikimori's angry expression over her normal one.

Izumi monologues about Inusuka's injuries, Shikimori's popularity, and his time away with her girlfriend towards the end of the episode. He becomes so preoccupied with his thoughts that he loses his footing on the stairwell. Shikimori, luckily, is there to stop Izumi from falling by hugging him from behind.
