Comic book fans have been patiently waiting to see the titanic clash between Shazam and Black Adam on the big screen and now that the Man in Black is finally heading to the DC Extended Universe, you can best believe that it's only going to be a matter of time before we see Zachary Levi and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Obviously, it's not going to take place in Johnson's Black Adam movie considering it's going to be an origin story so of course, the next best option is Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

However, director David F. Sandberg has stated on multiple occasions that The Rock won't be showing up in the Shazam! the sequel which is certainly hard to believe. But now, the renowned Horror filmmaker seems to be teasing the arrival of Teth Adam to claim his throne in the Rock of Eternity. Taking to social media to give fans an update regarding Fury of the Gods' production, Sandberg posted an image of a lightning bolt resembling Black Adam's emblem.

You may be thinking: "it's the exact same emblem Shazam sports in his suit so what's the fuss all about?" If you'll pay close attention to the image, the said lightning bolt is cleverly placed on a background made up of rocks. Get it? Check it out here:

Now, what I just said may come across as a huge stretch but Black Adam appearing in Shazam! Fury of the Gods makes all the sense in the world. Judging by the title alone, the film will most likely revolve around the Shazam family battling "gods" in the film, and news flash, Black Adam is considered a god.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will hit cinemas in 2023.
