After years of development and several delays to its production, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's DC project Black Adam will finally begin filming in three weeks. Comic book fans have been eagerly awaiting updates regarding the film for quite some time now and by the looks of it, the project won't be experiencing further delays and it's only going to be a matter of time before we see the epic debut of the "Man in Black".

The former wrestling superstar and multi-time WWE champion confirmed the exciting news on his official Instagram page, revealing that he already has his script for the project. And channeling his brash and cocky The Rock persona, Johnson issued a warning not only to the DC Extended Universe but to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well that Black Adam is arriving real soon.

In a video he posted on Instagram, Johnson explains: "I wanted to show you the opening page to my script, which I look at every time I open this. I've memorized these words for years and years and years now. But it gives you guys an example of who Black Adam is, and who Black Adam is to the world of the DC Universe. But also, I think, who Black Adam is to the world of superhero universes period. And that is the DC Universe, but that also includes the Marvel superhero universe too. Now look, I'm not saying there's going to be a mashup, I'm not saying that. But what I am saying, is that it doesn't matter to me, and it doesn't matter to Black Adam: You put 'em all on notice, whether they're DC Universe or part of the Marvel Universe, they all get put on notice now."

I, for one, am really excited to finally see The Rock's comic book film debut and what Black Adam brings to the world of DC. And whether some fans would like to admit it or not, someone like him brings a lot of star power into the DCEU and the multi-platform superstar will surely attract even the non-superhero film fans to watch the film. I have complete faith that it's going to be good.

Black Adam is expected to hit cinemas in 2022.
