We can safely say at this point that there is a lot of anticipation for Shazam! Fury of the Gods, especially after the success of the first film back in 2019. The excitement even grew further when it was announced that the release date is moving forward to December this year instead of summer 2023 which means that we don't need to wait much longer for the sequel.

During their recent presentation at the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, Warner Bros. showed the attendees exclusive brand new footage for Shazam! Fury of the Gods teasing what they have in store for the highly-anticipated sequel. However, the footage wasn't available to the public although, fortunately, there were press members who were present to report what they saw.

According to Screen Rant, the footage started with Zachary Levi's Shazam who is on a dinner date with Wonder Woman. He told her that he can't commit anymore to their relationship so she walked out. However, when she turned around, she suddenly became Merlin, who warned the hero that the Daughters of Atlas is coming for him.

The report also said that the footage showed a giant dragon landing near the heroes and gave a glimpse of Helen Mirren, who is set to play to villain. Shazam also made a Fast and Furious joke when he told her, "Lady, I've seen all the Fast and Furious movies and it's all about one thing: Family!" When nothing happened, the hero repeated "family" again and the kids landed one by one behind Mirren's character.

Based on the footage details, it looks like the upcoming sequel will be capturing the spirit of the first film which had a comedic tone while also dealing with the usual superhero action goodness that we get from the DCEU films.

It's also hilarious that they included a Fast and Furious joke given the timing since it was announced the same day that director Justin Lin has left Fast X. In addition, it is also somewhat a confirmation of the rumors that Wonder Woman will appear in the film although, according to the attendees, Gal Gadot did not play the character in the footage.

There are no details yet on whether the footage will be released publicly or if it will be part of the first trailer that they'll release sometime soon. Either way, it already adds to the excitement for the film and we can't wait for them to release the first-look footage publicly which should happen within the next few months.
