There is little doubt that big things are happening in Shazam! Fury of the Gods now that the daughters of Atlas are going after the superhero. But is it possible that Billy Batson will be getting help from another major DC Extended Universe hero? A new report suggests that a beloved hero with connections to Greek gods will be playing a major role in the upcoming DCEU sequel.
It's been confirmed that Shazam gets his power from the Greek gods and that the main villains in Fury of the Gods happen to be the daughters of one of these gods. So it's no surprise that The Illuminerdi is reporting that Wonder Woman will show up in the new film.
We already know that Diana Prince was created as the perfect weapon of the Greek gods and it seems almost natural for her to make an appearance in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. It is even believed that Wonder Woman will be featured in the sequel's trailer when it is finally dropped next year. However, it is important to point out that Gal Gadot has not yet been confirmed to appear in the DCEU film. With that in mind, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.
For now, there have only been a few new actors confirmed to appear in Shazam 2. Helen Mirren will play Atlas' daughter Hespera while Lucy Liu will portray her sister Kalypso. The third still-unnamed sister will be played by Rachel Zegler and is expected to have a major connection to Billy Batson's best friend Freddy Freeman.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is directed by David F. Sandberg and will bring back Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Djimon Hounsou. The film is scheduled for release on June 2, 2023.
