Netflix's Shadow and Bone is gearing up for Season 2 with four new characters and three more cast members promoted to series regulars.
Patrick Gibson (The OA) will play Nikolai Lanstov, the son of Ravkan king Alexander III with his own private fleet; Lewis Tan (Mortal Kombat) will play Tolya Yul-Bataar, Tamar’s twin brother and another Heartrender.
The Witcher actor Jack Wolfe joins Shadow and Bone as Wylan Hendrik — also known as Wylan Van Eck — a member of the Six of Crows who uses his mother’s maiden name while hiding out in the Barrel; and Anna Leong Brophy (Ragdoll, Traces) as Tamar Kir-Bataar, a Heartrender and Aline's close friend.
Expect to see more of Nina and Mattias in Shadow and Bone Season 2. Danielle Galligan and Claahan Skogman, who play the Heartrender and Drüskelle who fell for each other after being shipwrecked, have been promoted to series regulars. In the finale of Season 1, Nina betrayed Matthias (to save his life) by accusing him of being a slaver and having him sent to Hellgate for trial.
Plus, Daisy Head has also been promoted to series regular as Genya Safin, the tailor of the Queen who conspired with Kirigan to spy on Alina and poison the King.
The Netflix series is based on the bestselling novels Shadow and Bone, and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, and it follows the story of the young Alina Starkov (played by Jessie Mei Li), the Sun Summoner and the only one capable of destroying the volcra and the Shadow Fold. After demonstrating the ability to summon light, she crosses paths with General Kirigan (Ben Barnes), a sinister Grisha leader with dark plans for the Fold.
Shadow and Bone Season 2 is currently in production, but Netflix hasn't announced an official release date yet. You can read more details about Shadow and Bone Season 2 here.
