Another major cast member will not be seen in Sex Education Season 4. Tanya Reynolds has officially announced her exit from the show, following her on-screen love interest Patricia Allison.

Allison recently revealed her decision not to reprise her role as Ola in Sex Education Season 4. Now, it looks like Reynolds has followed in her footsteps and left the series.

Tanya Reynolds Leaves Sex Education Season 4

Reynolds has played the role of the fan-favorite Lily since the first season. However, little did fans know that the third season would be the last time they would see Lily.

“I’m not [returning], actually, which is sad, very sad,” she told Radio Times. “It’s just the natural progression of these shows – when you have such big ensemble casts and so many characters, I think you have to let a few older characters go to make way for newer ones, which is absolutely the right thing, the way it should happen.”

Reynolds is the third cast member who has announced her departure from the show, following Allison and the Bridgerton breakout Simone Ashley.

Why are Stars Leaving Sex Education Season 4?

The third season ended with the closure of Moordale Secondary School, and The Hollywood Reporter revealed it would remain close until the fourth season.

With that said, the show will feature a different school and new and returning characters will be in it.

The publication also noted the show is resetting following the closure of the said school, and Reynolds’ exit is part of the creative reset.

Patricia Allison Exits Sex Education Season 4

Just last week, news emerged that Allison would not reprise her role as Ola in Sex Education Season 4.

“I absolutely have loved being on Sex Education so, so much… but unfortunately, I won’t be joining the team for Season 4,” she said on the U.K. radio show Breakfast with Yinka and Shayna Marie via TVLine. “Some other opportunities have come up. I’ve been doing it for three years, and I’ve genuinely loved it.”

The 27-year-old star couldn’t deny that coming up with this decision was extremely difficult.

Simone Ashley Announces Sex Education Season 4 Departure

Ashley was first to announce her departure from Sex Education Season 4.

In her appearance on ITV’s This Morning in April, she was asked about the future of her role, Olivia, in the sex-positive series.

Ashley revealed she was often asked about it all the time, and she finally broke the record.

“No, I’m a Bridgerton girl now,” she said, per Teen Vogue.
