Secret Invasion: Olivia Colman Reveals Shocking Disappointment About MCU Series

Marvel's Secret Invasion is currently one of the most anticipated shows of the year. However, Olivia Colman claims she had a major disappointment about being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

Olivia Colman recently spoke about her role as MI6 agent Sonya Falsworth in Secret Invasion. Although she is happy to join the MCU, Colman pointed out that she wasn't happy that she didn't get any superpowers.

“I kept asking if I could be bitten by something or fall into a vat of something. They were having none of it,” she said.

We are certainly with Olivia Colman on this. After all, who wouldn't want to gain superpowers? Nevertheless, we're sure that Agent Falsworth has some tricks up her sleeve in Secret Invasion.

While Olivia Colman is sad about not having powers, Emilia Clarke is proud of Secret Invasion being different from the other shows because you don't need to watch every MCU project just to understand it.

"It's definitely a show for the fans, but it's also a show that my mum, who doesn't watch Marvel, will watch and get, do you know what I mean?" Clarke said in an interview with Empire magazine (via CBR).

"You can get into dangerous territory sometimes with this sort of genre where if you haven't watched all 17 other films or shows, you're not going to get it. This isn't that at all," she continued.

That's certainly an awesome tease considering that most MCU projects require more than just a basic knowledge of what is happening in the Marvel timeline. Luckily, we'll all just get to watch and enjoy Secret Invasion.

The official synopsis for Secret Invasion reads as follows:

"In Marvel Studios’ new series Secret Invasion, set in the present day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity."

Secret Invasion will also star Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Don Cheadle, and Martin Freeman. The series will consist of six episodes and is currently set to premiere on Disney+ on June 21, 2023.
