We all know who Olivia Colman is and any actor would be thrilled to get the chance to work with the gifted actress. However, Colman went full fangirl when she finally got to act alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Marvel's Secret Invasion.
Olivia Colman recently spoke to Empire magazine about Secret Invasion and the Academy Award winner pointed out that her character Sonya Falsworth goes a long way back in Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury (via Collider).
"Fury and Sonya are old friends, although I think his office is cooler. I mean, it's in space!" she said.
Colman then confessed that she enjoyed acting alongside Jackson.
"Working with Sam though, I loved him! Loudest man you've ever met. Joyful, funny, naughty," she said.
Colman then shared how one compliment from Jackson made her wear the same shoes for a long time.
"He said he thought my trainers were 'dope'. Didn't take them off for a year," she said.
Olivia Colman also admitted that although she was thrilled to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she had one complaint about her role.
"I kept asking if I could be bitten by something, or fall into a vat of something. They were having none of it," she said.
Although Colman's Sonya Falsworth doesn't have any superpowers (or so she says), she's got something up her sleeve. Falsworth is a high-ranking MI6 agent and there is little doubt that she can fight just as well as any superhero.
The official synopsis for Secret Invasion reads as follows:
"In Marvel Studios’ new series Secret Invasion, set in the present day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity."
Secret Invasion will also star Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Don Cheadle, and Martin Freeman. The series will consist of six episodes and is currently set to premiere on Disney+ on June 21, 2023.
