Sarah Ferguson is a wonderful mom and grandmother, and she was also once a great wife to Prince Andrew.
Even though the couple’s marriage ultimately ended in divorce, Ferguson stayed loyal to her ex-husband. In fact, even after the Duke of York was accused of sexual abuse, Ferguson declared that she’s proud of him.
Sarah Ferguson Still Grateful To Her Failed Marriage
While speaking with Woman’s Day, in its Dec. 20 issue, Sarah Ferguson was asked to share what she’s most proud of in her life. Other than her recent book releases, the Duchess of York surprisingly said that she’s proud of her marriage to Prince Andrew.
Years before Prince Philip passed away, there were rumors that Prince Andrew and Ferguson could remarry. And they are just, allegedly, waiting for the Duke of Edinburgh to pass on because he would never approve of their union.
As of press writing, Prince Andrew and Ferguson have not gotten back together officially. But they continue to live together at the Royal Lodge.
Sarah Ferguson Gushes Over Sienna, August
Elsewhere in the interview, Ferguson also gave a rare update about her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as well as their respective children, Sienna, 13 weeks old, and August, 10 months old.
Ferguson shared that she’s very much involved in her grandchildren’s lives. And she’s able to make the adorable babies laugh hysterically.
“Sienna is now 13 weeks old and August is now 10 months old. They find me funny. When Sienna smiles, you know it’s a genuine smile. They’re genuinely laughing with you or smiling with you. The innocence of children is that they are genuine,” she gushed.

The Duchess of York also said that she always reminds her children to be present. Since parenting is a full-time job, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie need to get used to both the highs and lows of being a mom.
“Be present. The girls remember very clearly when I closed the door to their nursery. I wouldn’t let anyone in with bad energy. Children are happy, they should not have to take on adult worries. Leave your problems at the door. When they were 18, I took them to a teenager cancer unit to teach them to hold the hand of a young teenager who was struggling,” she said.
Fergie also revealed that her daughters’ parenting style is very similar to how she raised them. The only difference is that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s approach is more modern.
The doting grandmother also said that Sienna and August now have a fixed routine that their parents make sure to follow. This way, parenting would be a bit easier.

The Duchess Of York Thinks Her Daughters Are Phenomenal Mothers
In October, Fergie called Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie phenomenal mothers.
While speaking with Hello! magazine, Ferguson said that her daughters were great children, but they turned into even better mothers.
“And now, I have these two exceptional grandchildren all in one year. Everyone asks me, ‘How are your grandchildren?’ Well, firstly, I look at my girls being wonderful mothers, and then I see these incredible beings,” she said.
During the same interview, Fergie revealed how much her grandson, August adores her.
“It’s so funny because when August smiles at me now, because he’s seven and a half months, you actually know he genuinely likes you. It’s not a put-on smile, he genuinely finds me very funny, which is quite lucky,” she said.
The Yorks have always been a tight family unit. And no amount of criticisms and backlashes can destroy their close bond with each other.
