Earlier this year, news surfaced that Ahsoka Tano will be making her live-action debut in the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, to be reportedly played by Rosario Dawson. In addition, it was revealed last week that Boba Fett will make an appearance in the show as well. However, it looks like there'll be more familiar faces to return in the show, and is possibly setting up a sequel series to Star Wars Rebels.

A new rumor from Kessel Run Transmissions suggests that both Ahsoka and Sabine will appear in one episode for The Mandalorian Season 2. It doesn't end there since the outlet claims Commander Rex will be appearing as well. As recent reports revealed, Temuera Morrison is set to play the role of Boba Fett in the show but is said to have a second role in the form of Rex.

While these characters will show up for a brief moment in The Mandalorian, the outlet claims they will drop some breadcrumbs to set up the Star Wars Rebels sequel series. The rumored show is said to air around the second season of The Mandalorian, and though it is yet to be confirmed, some scoopers are pointing out that production shutdown could have impacted the release of the rumored sequel show.

Not only that, but the outlet also claims that the Star Wars Rebels sequel series will be featuring a Clone Wars signature animation style, instead of the style used in the original animated show, which was often criticized.

For now, these are just rumors and should be taken with a grain of salt, but there's no denying that fans will be excited to see these characters on The Mandalorian.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 arrives this October on Disney+.
