Several weeks ago, we learned the exciting news that Succession actor Matthew Macfadyen is making his MCU debut in Deadpool 3. However, so far, we have no details yet regarding the role that he is going to play in the film, but fans are looking forward to seeing him be part of the MCU nonetheless.
Speaking recently with etalk CTV (via The Direct), Ryan Reynolds addressed the casting of Macfadyen in Deadpool 3 where he shared his excitement about working with the actor and suggests that he might have a major role as he mentioned that he will be in the set "each and every day."
"I am always rooting for him because he was one of the best actors out there. I mean, no joke," he said.
After the interviewer followed up by praising the actor's performance in Succession and how the viewers hate his character in the series, Reynolds went on to join the chorus and highlighted their upcoming collaboration.
"Maybe? I love him in Succession. I can embrace a guy who straddles the line of villain and hero. And martyr. And many other things," he continued.
"I think Matthew Macfayden is probably one of the most interesting actors working today. And the fact that he’s going to be on our Deadpool set each and every day is kind of nerve-wracking for me. I’ll be starstruck."
As we see Macfayden continue chewing the scenery every single week in the current fourth and final season of Succession, it is not surprising to hear Reynolds' excitement about working with him in the upcoming MCU film. As fans, it is very exciting to see him go back and forth with Macfadyen and it would be hilarious if he also makes a reference to his Succession role.
For now, we can speculate on what kind of role will the Emmy-winning actor play in the upcoming MCU film and how he'll play into the story. It is also curious to see whether his character is going to be on the good or the bad side.
