It's been four years since Disney's monumental acquisition of Fox and after a grueling wait, Marvel Studios finally has control over the X-Men. As it stands, the studio's mutant reboot has temporarily taken the backseat due to the House of Mouse's ongoing content restructuring.

For the uninitiated, Disney CEO Bob Iger has reportedly ordered to turn down the volume when it comes to the MCU's upcoming slate. This comes following complaints from fans and critics about the declining quality of Marvel films and shows. That's not to say though that the mutants aren't ready to appear in the billion-dollar franchise and in fact, seeds have slowly been planted.

Good news for X-fans because Deadpool 3 is adding another X-Men member to the MCU's growing roster. A new report from Deadline confirms that Stefan Kapicic will be reprising his role as Colossus in the anticipated flick. Not only that, but Morena Baccarin is also reuniting with Ryan Reynolds to play Wade Wilson's love interest, Vanessa.

Previously, Baccarin confirmed that she's in talks with Marvel Studios to join Deadpool 3's growing cast but claimed they've yet to agree to a deal. Well, it's safe to say that negotiations were successful or she was just probably playing coy all along about her involvement.

Of course, this is promising news for fans of the first two films and it looks like despite Wade Wilson's MCU crossover, Deadpool 3 will keep his previous adventures part of the MCU canon. Now, this also gives us hope that characters like Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Firefist, and Cable are also Earth-616 bound. With the film set to begin filming this year, chances are we'll get more casting updates in the coming weeks.

Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3 is currently slated for release on November 8, 2024.
