Ron Howard Confirms that Solo: A Star Wars Story has Officially Been Completed

Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to come out next month, and the film has officially completed pre-production. Director Ron Howard just announced it with a tweet:

Back when it was announced that Howard would be replacing Phil Lord and Chris Miller, a lot of fans were worried that Lucasfilm had not decided to push back the release date of Solo from its original May 2019 slate. As it turns out, Howard had come out to be such an efficient director that he was even allowed to shoot more material by Lucasfilm than originally intended.

As for ex-directors Lord and Miller, they have settled with Lucasfilm to getting an executive producers credit—at least they still have their names on the movie. It's going to be an awkward appearance at the premiere though.

With fans initially worried that Solo is going to be a disaster, teasers, trailers, and sneak peeks from Howard have put them at ease. Now hype for Solo is bigger than ever, and we should just expect it to grow once Disney gets Avengers: Infinity War out of the way.

Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out May 25.
